Space Cover #109, Soyuz-28 Intercosmos Cosmonaut Vladimir Remek Since there has not been many foreign covers in the Space Cover of the Week, I thought I'd show one cover and one photo from Czechoslovakia. On March 2, 1978, the first Intercosmos cosmonaut was launched aboard Soyuz-28 to dock with the Salyut-6 space station. Vladimir Remek's flight was the 4th mission to Salyut-6 and the 3rd successful docking. Flight lasted 7 days 22 minutes. Intercosmos was a space exploration program of the Soviet Union designed to include members of eastern bloc and communist countries in manned and unmanned space flights.
